Sea and Space is pleased to present new work by Karl Erickson.

Karl Erickson's multi-channel video installation "Be Almost Miraculous" is an invocation of the potential for motivational sloganeering to effect real transformation and possibly even transcendence in the form of a hyper-kinetic combination of sound and vision.

Karl Erickson is an artist whose interests include psychedelia, language, transcendental experiences, and counter-cultures throughout the ages. His primary media are video, posters, collage and latch-hook rugs and pillows. Recent exhibitions include "Give the Past the Slip" (with Andrew Falkowski), The Suburban, Chicago; "This Shadow is a Bit of Ideology ," Gallery 400, Chicago; "Age of Empires" (with Andrew Falkowski), Kristi Engle Gallery, LA; "Magnificent Bastards | The Art of War" (with Andrew Falkowski), High Energy Constructs, Los Angeles; Big Secret Cache, Angstrom Gallery, Los Angeles; Picnic Apparitions, Park Projects, Los Angeles; "Street Signs and Solar Ovens, "Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles; "Louis Morris," Atlanta Contemporary Art Center; and "Interstellar Low Ways," Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago.

With artist Robby Herbst and Steve Anderson, Erickson makes psychedelic liquid lights shows. Recent performances have taken place at High Energy Constructs, the LA Country Fair, Spaceland, Outpost, and Machine Project. Erickson received his MFA from CalArts and his BFA from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
